How It Works
Bring your gently used books to our shop. Our team will review them and offer you trade credit based on their condition and our current needs.
What We Accept
We’re looking for books in good condition—no water damage, excessive wear, or missing pages. Ask us if you’re unsure about a specific title!

Trade Program Details
Bring in your gently-loved books and turn them into store credit you can use toward future purchases.
We accept books for store credit only. We do not purchase books for cash. Trade credit is based on the resale value we assign to each accepted book and is added directly to your customer account.
How the Trade Program Works
Bring your used books to the counter during regular business hours. We’ll log them in and hold them for review while our team evaluates condition, demand, and current inventory needs. This process typically takes a couple of days.
Once the review is complete, accepted books earn store credit on your account. Because our holding space is limited, we ask that you limit trade-ins to two boxes per visit, unless you’ve made an appointment in advance.
Trade Credit — The Important Parts
Trade credit functions like a store discount rather than cash value. Each accepted book is assigned a resale price, and you receive store credit equal to one-third of that price.
A few key things to know:
Store credit has no cash value and is non-transferable
Credit may be used only toward book purchases in our store
Credit cannot be combined with other discounts or promotions
Credit may be applied up to 10% of a new book price or 50% of a used book price
You will always pay a portion out of pocket
What We Look For
We look for books in excellent or good condition that are clean, odor-free, and suitable for resale. Popular authors and strong genres are more likely to be accepted.
We do not accept:
Magazines
Books with water damage, stains, mold, or strong odors
Torn, grimy, or heavily worn books
Missing or badly damaged dust jackets
Books with excessive pet hair
If you’re unsure whether a book is a good fit, feel free to bring it in and we’ll be happy to take a look.
Donations
If you’re not interested in store credit, you’re welcome to donate books instead. Donations help keep books circulating in the community and support local literacy efforts.
